Boom Operator

Today I have been doing research about boom operators and their roles in production. Boom operators are the people that hold the boom mics while filming to ensure that they are getting proper sound. A famous boom operator that I found is Don Coufal. Don has worked on many productions including Grown Ups, Mission: Impossible III, Horrible Bosses, and much more. In order to be able to withhold the expectations of a boom operator, you must know a lot about sound, be patient, have excellent listening skills and have the ability to anticipate. I don't think that I would be a good boom operator because I don't have very good patience and holding up a mic does not seem like the best job in the world.
