Film Crew

The producer of a film is the person who will organize the film and keep it on schedule and under budget. I probably would not be good at this job considering I'm the least organized person in the world. 
The director is usually a creative person with a knack for telling stories. I think that being a director would be fun, because I could tell people what to do, but it was also be an extremely stressful. Being a director is not fit for anyone.
The photography director is responsible for making both the frame and actual image that you see on the screen look good. I think I would be good at this job because I'm very OCD about everything always looking perfect.
The editor is in charge of stringing all of the film together to tell the story and make it look good. This is a difficult job because you must keep the audiences attention while telling the story correctly and making the whole film perfect.
The project manager is the person responsible for accomplishing the stated project objectives and making sure everyone is doing the right thing. I think I would be a good fit for this job because I'm a good problem solver and like yelling at people. 

Spoken Word

Our assignment was to create a video that goes along with a spoken word poem of our choice. We were supposed to capture the mood of the poem by using unique shots of nature that correlate with the what was being spoken.

What is a Codec?

There is a lot of confusion about the concept of codecs. A codec is a device or program that compresses data to enable faster transmissions and decompresses received data. The word codec actually stands for compressor decompressor. Many people may get codecs confused with containers, but they are much different. Codecs can be placed in containers, but a container is basically a big storage place..hence the name container. Types of containers include capture codecs, which comes from what the camera is recording, and edit codecs.

story vs plot

The difference between story and plot is that the plot is the emotion and depth of the movie. The story is the cinematic feel of the movie. Plot deals with characters feelings, acting and how the movie makes sense. Plot is like the map, and the story follows. Plot grabs your attention when watching a movie, and the story wraps up all the questions.
